Common opener problems we fix
The door reverses before touching the floor (misaligned or dirty safety sensors), the motor hums but nothing moves (stripped gear), the remote works only up close (dying logic board or antenna), grinding on every cycle (worn chain or sprocket), or the wall button works but remotes don't (lost programming). A new belt-drive unit is quieter than your old chain drive, has battery backup, and pairs with your phone — often for less than two major repairs.
What a new opener install includes
We mount and align the unit, set travel limits and force, connect and align the safety sensors, program your remotes, keypad, and cars, connect Wi-Fi and the app, and test the auto-reverse against a 2×4. Installation runs 1–3 hours. California law (SB-969) requires battery backup on newly installed residential openers, so every unit we install keeps working through an outage — worth having during fire-season shutoffs.

Straight answers to common questions
Why does my garage door start to close, then go back up?
The safety sensors near the floor may be blocked, dirty or out of alignment. Clear the opening and check the indicators described in your opener manual. Travel settings, wiring or door resistance can also cause reversal, so request service if basic checks do not resolve it.
Is it worth repairing a 15-year-old opener?
It depends on the failure, parts availability and whether the opener has modern entrapment-protection features. Compare a written repair estimate with the installed cost and warranty terms for a suitable replacement.
Can I open my garage door from my phone?
Many current openers offer app control and door-status alerts. Compatibility and features vary by model, Wi-Fi coverage and account setup, so confirm the exact model before ordering.
